I am focusing on work for a release through CALICO GROUNDS, who are our friends and contributors here at VCAC. So until that release is done, production on issue 7 will be a little delayed. Josh and Stephen are putting out excellent releases, and best of all, often. You can follow their blog here.

Vomitorium NO.6 is available online now exclusively at OINKARTLTD.COM. It will soon be distributed by Calico Grounds in Houston and it is available from me in person.

Thanks to everyone who has bought a copy or is going to soon. I know $8 isn't that appealing when cash is low, but if you're like me, physical copies of printed art is worth the cash.

Number 7 is in the works. I'm in communication with some great artists and we are going to be pushing it even further this time. This issue may be more than just paper. Release date is probably mid-late August if all goes well.

In related news:

•Vomitorium contributer Josh Bosarge (issues 5 and 6) has released a solo zine of his writing and polaroids to accompany them. Available at Calico Grounds and Youth Attack records online stores. Only $5! Limited to 100.

•Zicole Marxen (issues 4 and 5) just wrapped up a tour with her band Mount Righteous. They are recording new material soon and they are playing some local shows (Denton/Dallas area) in July. They have some new members to the already big acoustic-only band, so check them out and buy their record!

•Cole Hill (issues 3 and 6) is living in Boston for a little while why he interns at Boston Magazine. He's getting to live right next to excellent record stores and venues, so I am a little jealous. Mr. Hill just graduated from SMU where he has had a ton of interesting run ins with some interesting cats at that school. He was once almost jumped by Dr. Phil's son and his bro buddies for saying that Dr. Phil Jr.'s band sucked (which they do.) I guess when you are trying to be like Creed and Nickelback you have to act like you need to get some rage out from all those years of pent up rage because your daddy wanted you to play football or because he wasn't there to "teach ya how to fight." But yeah Mr. Cole Hill and I are going to start a collaboration zine to be released later this year.

• Right now I am on my last summer ever for another week. I am working on a solo zine for Calico Grounds that will host three series of illustrations. You can see a small update of that here. My best friend is getting married in Mexico next week so I'll be there getting swine flu right before I start my second to last quarter of college ever. Should be interesting.

Monday marks my 21st birthday which will be the release date of No.6. I've completed layout and started printing.

Artists/Writers included are:

No. 6 is 37 pages, full color, 2 stickers, fold out cover, limited to 50, hand numbered, etc. It's the most unique layout of any releases I've done. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

I'm a busy human being right now, but I have printed 6, and all 6 look great. I will be printing the rest Sunday night, thus having them available on Monday (but only locally). No.6 will be sold on OINKARTLTD.com very soon, where you can also catch up on past issues in limited combo packages that you can save a pretty penny on. We're working on getting issues at some stores, more news on that when we have it.

Photos and more info will be available on Monday. Thanks for your patience, and get $6.50 ready!

Also, if you want to be in future issues, send some .jpegs of your work or some writings or whatever you want to show to BRICE.BAUM@GMAIL.COM. Explain who you are, why you want to be in an issue, who you would revive from death (this includes ANYONE/ANYTHING that's dead), and list what you like and don't like in life. I don't deal with pricks, so if you're a skin head nazi prick, don't bother emailing me.

I'm already getting no.7 into planning stages, setting up the extras (possibly printed bandanas, postcards, etc. etc. etc.). It will also be nice.

I finished the cover of no.6 tonight. It doesn't make sense with just this image. You will just have to buy it when its done to see the whole composition. This will be the most unique construction of a zine I've made. Thanks for the support, this issue should be done soon, no set date since every time I do that I never make that deadline. I don't normally say who is going to be in an upcoming zine until it is printed and there is no going back, but I'm very excited to be putting in the artwork of a friend from Spain. I bought a zine from him a while back which I really enjoyed and I had to ask him to be in Vomitorium.

I got his stuff for No.6 they other day, and they rule! Here is an interview with him via a blog that hosts art from people who use Moleskine journals/books.

Time goes by a little too fast. We are working on getting stuff together still, i'm also still trying to get the right artists for this upcoming issue.... I would like as much diversity as possible, but I have a good selection of people right now that are for sure in.

I'm working on my comic still, i've started a 5 piece series of paintings that are really really nice. Hopefully you will see them on a wall sometime soon... cause I don't know when I will get around to putting them online or in a magazine or anything. It may be my part for no.6, but as of now, my comic is my part of no.6. We will see.

In other news, our good friends and supporters are doing really outstanding things:

True Widow is excellent. Check out this VIDEO. They are one of the handful of DFW area bands I truly enjoy.

Mount Righteous is going on a little out of town trip this weekend to play some music to some people. They were recently on the cover of Quick, check it! Congrats to them.

I'm done compiling everything and have printed about half of the zines. I ran out of toner though, so it will be a couple days until the rest are done. Toner is just way too damn expensive. I'm sending the first half to Houston to the writers of SEWN IN A LOVER'S BELLY. So if you are in Houston, get one from them for now. Email me if you want one because it won't be for sale on any online shops for a while. I will have it for sale on the blog later next week when I'm truly done.

There are some plans for the future, but time and work are in the way. Brent, Katie, Preston and I are doing a major collaboration to be released in some VERY limited zines that will be VERY VERY high quality and packaged as beautifully as my cash permits. When all our work is done, we will have a showing which will have a ton of work for you to see. We are working on arranging a place to host this show in the Dallas/Ft.Worth/Denton area. Hopefully this will be soon, but we are all very busy right now.

Vomitorium No.5 is in the planning stages and some of the selected artists are already at work. I am planning on having over 4 artists this time around. No.5 will also feature written work for the first time. Stay tuned for the artists announcement and be prepared to see some more work of past artists. We are aiming to have it done before the end of December.

Soon we will be having a fund raising sale of original artwork from past zines and new stuff to help fund these future endeavors.

My good friend Judd Meyers is almost done making a video showing the making of issue no.4. It should be done in about a week.

The very limited issue of VOMITORIUM, which features 2 works of art by all past artists and the future artists of no.4, is now completed and printed. Its black and white, limited to 8 copies. Each copy will be given away FREE to our most dedicated and helpful supporters. If you think you are one of them, watch your mailbox.

We got some new stickers printed up, they are huge, 4x6 inch 3 color weatherproof vinyl. The drawing was done by me and is no one in particular... it isn't me in the future or Gary Glitter. They are free with any purchase of a zine or a shirt or if you see me and want on, I will just give you a handful.

Update (No.4 news)

^some of my illustrations that might be in No.4...

So we finished compiling the art for our special one year issue. As soon as the new stickers come in the mail, the zines will be sent out to our most supportive of friends and businesses. If you think you are one of them, keep an eye out for it in the mail.

As for No.4, we are all working hard on our artwork, except Z Marxen, because she is already done cause she is a real pro. I always say "yeah no.__ will be done in like... a week or so.." but it never really happens. This time I really mean it when I say it will be done by the end of August. If it isn't, then I will give up. But yeah all the artist in this future issue are really dedicated and we are all excited to get to have our work available to anyone and everyone.

No.4 will be limited to 50 issues. I did a lot of thinking about making it "limited" because I don't want to "limit" any ones ability to get this. The thing is though, by the time I'm done creating 50 of one zine, I've put a ton of my own money into it and a reprint is the last thing on my mind. I would rather get to the next issue. There is always the possibility of a reprint or a future compilation of all the zines once I get more cash and confidence.

Until the end of August, make some positive progress in your life and stay good.

This issue is a collection of work from 4 different artists. Each artist was given 6 pages to put whatever they wanted onto them.

Here are the artists featured:

Jane Joveita- Her art is very vivid and full of color. Her pieces contain elements of design, color, illustration, textures and more.

Cole Hill- His work is all photography. Black and white film photos he printed show a very artistic and interesting viewpoint to our normally bland surroundings.

Robert Salazar- His work is a collection of recent abstract style paintings and illustrations that spill out some very dream-like scenes filled with vibrant color and creative expressions.

Brice Baum- His illustrations explore strange memories and odd predictions of humanity.

It has been a while since an update. so here it is:

-There are still some copies left of Vomitorium #2 around. It is available online at Gorillamart.com . I don't have any more copies left myself, so as of now, Gorillamart is the only place to get it. Soon another online shop will be selling it, in the mean time, check out their site anyways: www.oinkartltd.com. 75 copies were printed, I dunno if there will be another printing. Vomitorium #1 is long gone, and there probably wont be another printing of it, I think there were around 40-50 copies of that...

-shirts. they are being printed and should be available soon. They will be a 3 color print on natural colored organic cotton American Apparel tee's. Liberated Images are handling the printing duties, check them out here: liberated

-and lastly, Vomitorium Issue #3 is pretty close to being printed. Expect it to be done in the next few weeks. It will feature 4 artists this time. A post about that will be made sooner or later. This issue will have a more unique binding method, so it will take longer to put all together. The price will probably stay $5 though. I'm already talking with more artists for #4 as well. I hope to have that done in the summer.

Things have turned out to work finally. Brent Parker is now the second artist to be featured in the next issue of vomitorium. His work is just as good as he is a skater, which means its outstanding. Together we will be creating a real collection of some really strong pieces that everyone can enjoy. Hopefully it will be done by the end of the year, but with us both being busy with other things in our lives, it might be the beginning of next year.

It will be affordable as usual and will come with stickers and buttons in a nice plastic bag.

This time my illustrations will be drawn by hand, then digitally colored. It's pretty time consuming but I get a great amount of detail achieved. To accompany this next zine, I will be selling some paintings that are recreations of my work that will be featured. I am currently done with two that are 2 by 2 feet painted on oak wood squares. They are painted with acrylic and paint markers. Here is a sneak peek:

So maybe VOMITORIUM #2 isn't going to be done in October. I'm guessing within the next two months this thing will see the light of day. It will be worth the wait. Some special goodies are being rounded up for the next release.

Vomitorium #1 is in the final stages of production. I am about to start to make these in my room one by one... it will take a while. I will hopefully have some done and shipped out to some people by the 30th.

Vomitorium #1 is a combination of work by Preston Plume and Brice Baum. Preston's work are pencil drawings and cartoons in a comedic style full of satire, humor, hilarity. Brice's work is a mix of oddity, humor, and disgust.
